Cousins in North Carolina

A week ago, we went down to North Carolina to visit Dave's Mom and Family.   While we were there, we were glad that we had the chance to spend some time with Dave's niece's kids.  They are twins as well.   Alex and Aubrey enjoyed playing and laughing with them.

A and B had their sunglasses on, so Alex and Aubrey had to go get theirs out of their suitcases.

While we were in NC, we went to a local children's museum.  We had been there once before, but Alex and Aubrey enjoyed it again.

(This picture didn't turn out very well, but I really like it so I tried to fix it a little bit.)

Get Away Weekend

Dave and I escaped the routine of every day life and went away for two nights to a beautiful Bed and Breakfast up near Boonsboro, MD.  We really enjoyed our stay and our break.  We did not take a break from biking though.  We did two bike rides together while we were there.

We did relax a little bit too.

Here is a shoutout to Marissa for watching the kids while we were gone. She did a great job. Alex and Aubrey had a great time with her. We are so thankful to Marissa for her kindness.

On the day we arrived, we took a ride around Antietam Battlefield. Then the next morning, we did the hardest 40 mile bike ride I have ever done. The hills were crazy and never stopped. We ended up going over South Mountain four times, plus another hill at the end. It was so hot, but it was wonderful that we were able to do this bike ride together. It was such an accomplishment.

Family Bike Weekend

A couple weekends ago, we joined some other biking families at a campground in Maryland to spend a few days biking around.  Marissa joined us on this adventure.   This was the third year that Alex, Aubrey, Dave, and I have done this ride.  This was the first year that Marissa joined us and we are so glad she did.   We did a 20 mile bike ride on Saturday and a 20 mile bike ride on Sunday.   It was nice to spend the weekend with other biking families and to enjoy biking as a family together.

Here are Aubrey, Dave, Alex, and I.   Alex and Aubrey are having fun in their Weehoo bikes.

On Saturday during the ride, we stopped at an outdoor museum in Furnace Town, MD.  We spent an hour or so wondering around and enjoyed a picnic lunch.

There was an old church there.  Dave is telling Marissa and Alex how to run the service.  Then in the second picture, Alex is giving his sermon.  : )

When we got back to the campground and after dinner, we enjoyed s'mores.

Looking forward to doing this ride again next year.

Trip to the Beach

A couple weeks ago, we took a one-night trip to the beach.   We had a lot of fun.  The kids loved playing in the sand and the water was nice and refreshing.
